Technology has a great impact on our day-to-day life. It is also affecting our jobs. In the past few years technology has developed at a high pace. Technology like A.I. has made our work very simple but in some cases it has also replaced humans. Technology with great A.I don’t need humans. Machines are more efficient now and they don’t need the same manpower they needed before, this will cause unemployment.

Positive Impact of Technologies:

  • Improved lifestyles, and hence consumerism increased and thereby results in more employment opportunities. 
  • It helps in the growth of the economy.
  • Demand for technically skilled youth is increasing, results in more jobs available for educated youth.
  • Increases Productivity.
  • Easy Communication.
  • Technology helps in reducing time and efforts for certain work.
  • Technologies like Artificial Intelligence, have the potential to create large scale jobs in rural areas and hence addresses the rural unemployment issue. Till now, jobs with better pay are concentrated in urban areas.
  • With the help of technology we can to tasks very rapidly.

Negative Impact of Technologies:

  • Affect Employment i.e. Job loss
  • Technical advancement is forcing people to continuously update their knowledge to sustain themselves in the job market. 
  • Only skilled workers get job in technology unskilled workers are replaced by them. But we can overcome this demerits too by offering skills to the unskilled peoples and by changing our lifestyle.
  • It makes the person lazy.
  • Jobs like data entry cashier will vanish.
  • It may also cause to cause to people to increase the work duration.
  • Addiction to electronic gadgets, especially youth get immensely addicted to it.

Conclusion

Technology changes the nature of jobs. Even though some jobs will become redundant, technological advancement has the potential to create many more employment opportunities than it eliminated. Continuous learning and updating the skills is the need of the hour.
